Hub & Spoke Learning Space Layouts

What is Hub & Spoke?

Hub & Spoke layouts in learning spaces maximise usage of your school’s areas to ensure multiple styles of work can take place at the same time.  With Envoplan’s model, your school will be able to offer the correct balance of study, teaching and breakout learning spaces to positively impact on your students’ performance, health and wellbeing.

The core of this intelligent design style is the central hub – a shared flexible workspace – surrounded by smaller, breakout learning zones to empower students and staff to work as they need to on any particular project. These alternative areas are perfect for group work, individual study, discussions, focused teaching and/or subject specific education, as well as technology free zones for relaxation and wellness.

With our Hub & Spoke model, teachers and students can work collaboratively to raise quality learning, knowledge and skills throughout the school day.

What are the 3 key factors of a successful Hub & Spoke?

Your young learners need to be stimulated; to be able to be physically comfortable; and to have their individual needs met. Envoplan’s Hub & Spoke supports how your students and staff interact, engage and communicate with all aspects of their learning considered.

1. Stimulation, mood & emotion

Intelligent storage hides away any classroom clutter, leaving students free to focus on their work, with both private and open spaces available for them to move around in. Each area has the latest digital applications to ensure wherever your students are, they can work to the best of their ability supported by advanced technology. Bespoke furniture, fabrics and furnishings reinforce your schools’ colours, personality and aspirations throughout.

2. Physical comfort

Envoplan’s experienced designers will always include the addition of as much natural lighting as possible, and with the inclusion of perfect acoustics for the optimum communication levels, comfortable temperatures throughout with clean air quality and links to nature, your school will both look and feel amazing.

3. Individualism – your students’ needs

Studies prove there is a direct correlation between provision of appropriate environments and learning progress. By giving your students ownership of their zones, providing ergonomic furniture and furnishings and creating flexible connection spaces, you will increase your pupils’ success.

Hub & Spoke – Health & Wellbeing

Students feel better and perform better in environments that support their health and wellbeing. Managing their movement through areas that offer separate and specific benefits depending on their work requirements, mean students will be calmer, more proactive and engaged yet able to create spontaneous connections and important social zones.  Our Hub & Spoke model inspires staff with an enriched learning style to bring out the best in everyone.
